November/December 2015

President's Message

It’s hard to believe we are almost halfway through our current FEI programming year. We have a lot of momentum going into our 2016 meeting schedule with the great start we received from our first three meetings. The professional development session of our November chapter meeting focused on tax updates, and was led by Wipfli and Godfrey & Kahn. Robert Schimek, AIG President of the Americas, was our keynote speaker and he did not disappoint. He focused his topic on the risks that AIG faces as one of the largest insurers in the world.

FEI Diversity will be sponsoring a six part lunch and learn webinar series offered through Women’s Leadership Coaching. Though the webinars are provided through a women’s group, the topics apply regardless of gender and all are welcome. The Peer Group held a meeting on November 5th and discussed the new regulations for repairs and maintenance, and the Affordable Care Act. We also addressed the process to request proposals for audit and tax, and discussed expected wage increases for 2016. You always have input into the Peer Group Agenda!

Our next meeting is February 25, 2016. Please click here to view more details.

Special Feature: Career Management Update

October was a fantastic month for recruitment for our Chapter. As a result of the Chapter Challenge Promotion we signed up 11 members compared to our goal of 12. This has been a very popular promotion around the country. We are tentatively planning to offer this same promotion again during either February or March 2016.

Based on the day long Career Management Workshop held on May 14, 2015 at Bridgewood in Neenah, it became clear there was additional interest in professional social media and understanding the power of LinkedIn.
